Keith Steury - the food sherpa

August 1, 2007 - the food sherpa, a customized in-home personal chef service, is now available for busy executives, couples, and families in the Northern Virginia area. Owned and operated by Keith Steury, the food sherpa offers "palate-specific" personal meals that are cooked from only the freshest ingredients in the comfort of your own home. "Everyone is so busy today. For many, meal planning and preparation is just one more item on a daily to-do list that is already unmanageable. Heating a frozen entree or picking up take-out food may be a convenient solution, but the high sodium and preservative content in these meals are quite simply bad for your health," says Steury. "You may save some time, but your and your family’s well-being suffers in the long run."

Steury also offers custom cooking classes and special event services. He can help you to plan and execute celebrations from a romantic dinner for two, to a birthday party, or even a buffet service for groups of up to 30 people.

Steury holds a complimentary assessment meeting with all of his clients to determine their unique dietary needs and food preferences. He then works with each client to develop a custom menu that meets their needs and to select a cook date that works for both parties. "On the cook date, I shop for all the food, come into the client's home and prepare all of their meals. Before I leave, I package, label, and store everything that I have prepared and leave the kitchen as clean as I found it. I leave nothing behind but a full refrigerator and the aroma of delicious food," says Steury.

Chef Steury is certified by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals as a Food Safety Manager and is a member in good standing of the American Personal & Private Chef Association (APPCA). He can be contacted at 703.379.7339. More information is available on his website at www.thefoodsherpa.com.
