October 3 , 2010 - the food sherpa llc has renewed his Food Safety Manager Certification through the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP). Successful completion of the Food Safety Manager Certification denotes competence in the following food safety topics:
- Food Protection
- Purchase and Receipt of Food
- Food Supplies and Storage
- Food Preparation, Service & Display
- Equipment & Facilities Maintenance and Cleanliness
- Personnel Hygiene, Training and Behaviors Related to Food Safety
- Legal Compliance
As described on the NRFSP website, "The Certified Food Safety Manager examination is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under standards established by the Conference for Food Protection (CFP). That accreditation makes National Registry's exam acceptable in all states and jurisdictions that recognize those standards set by ANSI and CFP, and is an assurance of quality in the development and maintenance of the exams."

A current Food Safety Manager Certification is also a requirement of the American Personal & Private Chef Assocation (APPCA), the largest personal and private chef trade association in the United States, of which the food sherpa llc is a member in good standing.
